









Built circa 1890, Holland House has remained in the family for over 100 years. This comprehensive renovation focused on carefully modernising the home while respecting its historic fabric, addressing long-standing structural issues and reworking the internal layout to better support contemporary family life.
Scope of works
• Full kitchen remodel, including a custom-built kitchen designed in collaboration with Apron Kitchens
• Complete replacement of flooring throughout, including extensive underfloor preparation following the discovery of rotting original joists and floorboards
• Downstairs reconfiguration to improve flow, connectivity, and day-to-day functionality
• Full interior decoration across the entire house
• Bespoke, highly functional bedroom cabinetry
• Conversion of a flat roof area into a usable, functional space
• Design and delivery of new bathrooms and en-suite, including layout, finishes, and detailing
• Specialist finishes including tiling and Venetian plaster
Approach
The project combined structural intervention with detailed interior design, balancing craftsmanship, durability, and heritage sensitivity. Every decision was guided by long-term use, material honesty, and respect for the building’s history as a lived-in family home.
Outcome
Holland House has been reimagined for modern living while retaining the character and continuity built up over generations—ensuring the house can continue to evolve without losing its identity
